I have a similar problem John,I recently purchased my first moncler down jacket it’s a shiny navy everest down jacket which cost quite a lot of money.
The only problem is I have not worn it in public yet because I am too embarrassed to wear it. I was told by a female friend that it looks ridicules on me because it’s to shiny and feminine looking and that they have only see girls wearing shiny down jackets and not guys.
So now I don’t know what to do, I think I would feel very vulnerable and self-conscious in front of people and at what they might say or think of me if I was to wear this shiny moncler down jacket in public. What shall I do should I listen to what I was told and sell it, or should I ignore there comments. has anyone got any advice for me.
Dont worry so much about what other people think, if you like the way you look, then go for it!
I have a large collection of jackets like these but sadly not one of them is a Moncler.
Be proud of who you are because at the end of the day we are all induviduals. If people decide to disapprove of you for wearing something they have got the guts to wear then that is just jelousy and envy.
i bought a shiny moncler down jacket recently but i too am very self conscious about wear it. I recently started college and i was going to wear it during the winter months, but i have noticed only girls wearing shiny down jacket like this, i dont know what to do, i feel there would be alot of insulting comments passed my way if i was seen in such a shiny down jacket. should i take a chance i just dont know, i might end up being Laughed at by everyone. What would you do moncler fans?
My work requires me to travel throughout Europe, so I'm lucky to be exposed to interesting fashions. While in France, I noticed women wearing these amazing down jackets manufactured by a company called Moncler. Most of Moncler's down jackets are distinctive due to their shiny finish. You can spot them a mile away, and women look fantastic in them. I never found a shop that sold Moncler jackets until I travelled to Italy. While in Milan, I found them. Moncler's cool boutique style shop. Great news; the same glossy down jackets that fascinated me in Paris were also available for men. I purchased a black Moncler down jacket.
How It Ended. Almost
Unfortunately when I returned home to Canada, my girlfriend and her Mother disapproved. To them, my new jacket was too shiny, too unconventional, and too feminine for a guy to wear in Canada. Sadly, their comments broke my confidence to wear it in public. The jacket has been hanging in my closet for almost 2 years.
Take A Chance And Let The Public Decide
My black Moncler (Venise model) down jacket is coming out of the closet this month! I've decided to let the Canadian public, just everyday friends and strangers, decide it's fate. Over the next 3 months this winter, I'll be wearing it and carefully noting (and blogging) comments and reactions from my fellow citizens. At the end of 3 month period I'll analyse the data to determine if my jacket is a hit or miss. This could be interesting. Or not.
After spending a condiderable amount on a Moncler jacket, I'm having second thoughts. Follow my blog as I share my experiences right from the start...to possibly the end.
Wow! Love that jacket!!
